Every industry giant has a humble spark. Ours ignited in 2004, inside a cramped university hostel room, over a heated debate between four Computer Application students armed with little more than curiosity and a copy of C++.
We weren't just chatting about grades. We were dreaming of automation. While others saw manual ledgers and barcode scanners as mundane, we saw opportunity. We pooled our allowances, bought an installment-paid Pentium III PC, and built our first prototype — clunky, bold, and brilliant. It could write cheques, check inventory, and read barcodes. It wasn't pretty. But it was ours.
2008
The First Real Bet
Small function-based solutions were fun, but we craved impact. We rented our first office — a tiny room in Colombo — and launched our first commercial product. No big funding. No fancy titles. Just us and 50+ small business owners who taught us their real pain points. We didn't just sell software; we sat next to them, learning how a retailer thinks, how a wholesaler breathes.
2015
From Code to Credibility
By 2015, we had grown organically to 200 SME clients across manufacturing, retail, and distribution. That hands-on experience gave us something no generic ERP can buy: deep domain insight. We stopped being just another software vendor and became a strategic partner. This was the birth of what truly separates CEYPLUS ERP from the rest — solutions shaped by Sri Lankan business reality, not foreign templates.
2016
The Enterprise Leap
One phone call changed everything. A leading Sri Lankan manufacturing company trusted us with their complete digital transformation. It was our enterprise breakthrough. Suddenly, we weren't just "good for small business." We were genuine ERP consultants with local enterprise credibility. The hostel dream had entered the boardroom.
